@manton Right now, I’m still happy with my 15 PM. I have never felt a need to upgrade every year anyway. Haven’t we reached, or almost reached, the summit of what can be added to this pocket computer? Apple can make it faster, with longer battery life and more camera pixels, but what other show-stopping must-have additions are there?
@manton I shall have to look that up. I’ve always been interested in what Dave Winer has to say. BEFORE I do listen to him, isn’t it all about attention span? It’s way easier for many to communicate in short, sharp bites, rather than have to sit and think about what to put in a paragraph or three.
@robertbreen I have a couple of colleagues who do nothing outside of work. I don’t bet on them having a long retirement, let alone a happy one.
@robertbreen Thinking about retiring myself. I’ve got several hobbies though, so I won’t be an idle couch potato!
@manton I’ve not tried it yet. As an Apple person, I use Apple Notes a lot. Am I missing something?
@jasonhifi.com I have the 45.
@robertbreen I got rats in my garage and they got into the house, at least into the attic. I got pest control in and they were eradicated. hearing them scurrying about in the small hours was not pleasant.
@AbramKedge Very much so. However, so many are devoid of any critical thinking skills.
@manton Some adults need to limit their use of social media too! I see many examples where people clearly aren’t in the real world, even when out in public. Like all things, moderation is the key, I feel.
@robertbreen I bought an M3 last year. I lost out though as Apple then increased base RAM from 8GB to 16… oh well, it’s not my main workhorse anyway.
@Reddog Pretty much the same here too.
@Reddog I had a/c in a car when I lived in the States, but not here. In fact, I haven’t had a car for almost twenty years now.
I rarely use any of these AI bots. I’m still using search engines - Duck Duck Go rather than Google usually.
I had a recent urine test, which found no sugar in my urine. I don’t take added sugar in my food, and I don’t drink sweet carbonated drinks at all. I do enjoy good cask ale, though, but I probably don’t drink enough to cause me issues.
@stevewfolds I used to take sugar in coffee. I quit that. I have also quite cream. Very occasionally, and just for a change, I’ll have a cappuccino (without chocolate on top), just for a change. That would be something like once a month, though. The rest of the time, I’m drinking it black. How many grams per cup? Not sure, to be honest, my machine is bean-to-cup, and I allow it to take care of things.
@sundersays.bsky.social He needs to fuck off.
@dorianlynskey.bsky.social I don’t trust ANY social media platform for news. Anything that I’m interested in, I look for multiple sources anyway.
@josiah.writes.news Of course. I count myself lucky.
@josiah.writes.news I think about it occasionally, but I don’t really need a car and I’ve not had one for many years now. The way motorists get ripped off at every turn just puts me off. I can spend the money on things that bring me pleasure.
@luketryl.bsky.social But, what is true, and what is spun by the right-leaning mainstream media?
@esqueer.net I just don’t understand why.
@esqueer.net Like Leavitt? Has the intelligence of a jar of mayonnaise.
@anneapplebaum.bsky.social This Leavitt is a horrible brain dead Trump asslicking bimbo
@iandunt.bsky.social I rarely bother with umbrellas. It’s often windy with the rain, and I’ve got the carry the damn thing about all day. Having said that, I bought two good heavy duty ‘stormproof’ umbrellas a couple of years back. Wife took one out the first week and left it at the bus stop. No, I didn’t buy another!
@eyebeemania.bsky.social I am often in Richmond. My wife works there.
