Wide Awake!

Getting up at 7am and still wide awake!

A Quiet Day

I didn’t have any music on today, which is very unusual for me.

I didn’t have the TV on either, but that’s quite normal.

I spent time charging camera batteries for a weekend event and I ensured memory cards were cleared and ready for use.

I did some photo editing in Lightroom which passed a few hours.

RSS

I was tinkering with Feedly a couple of evenings back. Today, it dawned on me that I didn’t need to mess with Feedly when I already have Readwise/Reader installed on my Mac, as Reader has an excellent RSS reader built in. I primarily use it to save web pages and newsletters.

The Afternoon After

I actually slept well last night, which is surprising after a rather boozy day. It’s darn cold outside today, the temperature is still in the 30s at noon. At least I don’t have to go out in it. Kathy’s gone downtown to get her nails fixed as they were chipping after only two days.

The Owl & The Pussycat

I ended up in the old and the pussycat after an afternoon in Hammersmith and Fulham.

The imperial stout was excellent and the new version which is 8.4% is sublime.

I am drinking a pint of this as we speak and it is one of the most superb imperial Stout that I have had

At The Hospital

First mistake was buying a sandwich. Need to take out a mortgage for it.

Anniversary

Yes, I remembered. It’s 27 years ago today, that we tied the knot. I’ve always thought we were so lucky to meet, as we were opposite sides of the Atlantic. We’re celebrating today, with a follow-up appointment at the hospital. Then, we’re going to get a late lunch.

Two people are sitting on public transportation, one holding a phone and the other holding a walking cane, with both smiling at the camera.

Cold And Wet

I woke up early this morning around 6 am. Luckily, I managed to get back to sleep again and slept until almost 8.

It’s certainly autumn and winter is approaching. The current temperature is only 38°F and the maximum today is forecast to be 41. It’s also raining.

I have an appointment at Thomas Smith Hospital today which is a follow-up on my DVT issues from earlier in the year and I have to be there for 1145 so I have to get myself organised and ready to go. It’s only a few miles away but it takes over an hour to get there so I need to get moving.

Beer O’Clock

It wasn’t planned. I was going to stay at home while my wife went out to get her hair done. She was hoping I would go with her. I did. However, I can’t sit in the hairdressers with her for an hour or two while she’s cut, coloured and blow dried, so I went to the local Wetherspoon’s pub. Ok, the beer is only £1.89 a pint which is a steal these days.

The Mad Squirrel Stimulus was rather good too. A nice, 4.0% session ale. More than one of course.

A Cold Tuesday Moring

Had the first frost here overnight. I dislike winter, and I already can’t wait for the weather to warm up in the spring, but that’s still some months away. I know that here we don’t experience frigid temperatures, but even so, I prefer it to be 60°F or above.

Anyway, right now, I’m in the warm, indoors, and with another mug of hot coffee on my desk.
