The 3.45 am alarm is brutal, but I was home from work at 1 pm. I’m now chilling with some journaling, some meditation, some reading, some music, and now a beer.

It’s Friday, and I’ve got a busy weekend ahead. Working on Saturday, outing on Sunday. Then a day off on Monday!

I spend much of my downtime listening to music. I have long moved away from Spotify. These days, I prefer Qobuz and Roon, and I discover a lot of music that way. My main genres are jazz and electronic. Right now, I’m trying out Maestro, a new music app from Paul McGowan of PS Audio.

Much as I’m not a huge fan of a 3.50 am alarm, it’s nice to be going home from work at one in the afternoon.

It’s a dry start to the day at least. Coffee made.

I use Roon as part of my music listening experience. Today, however, I have downloaded PS Audio’s Maestro, and I’m giving it a free trial. Let’s see how it goes. So far, so good. It’s playing nicely with my Mac, my DAC, and my Denon AVR.

I have ripped the CDs I purchased yesterday to one of my external drives. It’s an older USB Hard Drive, so not fast, but it’s fast enough for audio playback. I have two connected. This one for audio and photographs is 16TB, and the other, where I keep documents and other stuff, is 14TB.

On the way home from the hospital, as I had a 7 minute wait for a bus, I dropped into a charity shop, and grabbed 10 CDs for a tenner. An assorted bunch, I shall rip them to my hard drive, so I can also play them whilst out and about.

Going to the Transport Heritage Show at Detling today. Taking the old girl with me.
