Into The Small Hours
Last week,I was asleep by 8pm. Now, it’s after midnight and I’m wide awake and typing on my iPad in the dark!
Lunchtime Listening
I went down the Roon rabbit hole, and ended up playing this collaboration from 2017…
Raise The Roof: Robert Plant & Alison Krauss

Sunday - Before Dawn
I type this it’s currently 6:53 am on Sunday morning. That’s a three hour lying compared to what I’ve heard the rest of the week!
I’ve just been to the kitchen and made myself a nice big mug of black coffee as I usually have pretty much every morning. This morning, however, I have the luxury of taking it back to bed and being able to take my time and submit it a bit slower than I usually would and catch up on what’s going on around the world before get up and truly start the day.
Saturday Morning
I don’t mind getting up early in the morning. I am usually awake around 530 to 6 am. However, when I have an alarm call at 3:50 it’s just a little too early even for me. I’ve just done six of those, and today is the last one. For the next week I’m on leave and I can pretty much get out of bed when I want to within reason.
Friday Break
Living the high life! Smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel for breakfast. With coffee, of course
Friday On My Mind
Well I haven’t really but I was just remembering the old song title anyway it’s a dreamy wet morning. It’s not cold current temperatures around 55°F but it’s going to be wet and windy for the next 24 hours according to the weather people.
Only one more day to do and then a week off. I would’ve been on leave tomorrow but I had to change that to take the following Sunday off.
Halfway
It’s Thursday morning 4:30 am. It’s the fourth day of six so we are halfway there and I’m waiting for the bus which is just coming around the corner.
Two more early mornings and then a week off! Yay!
DAC Issues Resolved
I was met with almost complete silence last evening when I tried to play DSD files through my Topping DX1—never had that before. FLAC was fine. This afternoon, I reset the Roon configuration, and everything is working again.
