gardening
Monday Morning, almost 10 am. Coffee and journalling. Work at one. Then I have two days off. Starting with a GP apoointment tomorrow morning, and a meeting in the evening. Wednesday, planning to do a little gardening, but might get it done tomorrow. We shall see.
I’ve just ordered some winter cabbage seeds. 5 different varietes. They’ll be here on Sunday, so can get them into seed trays, and get them started indoors, before I plant them outside. I have some frost protecetion if needed, and I should have cabbages from about February and on into spring.
Did some clearing out of the vegetable patch, and getting ready for the autumn. Better to do it now, while it’s dry and sunny, than leave it to a deary, dark damp afternoon in November!
Just got these from my garden.
OK, gardening done. Beans cleared up, rogue tomatoes staked up and dead foliage in the garden waste bin. Now, we’re enjoying a glass of wine or two. Julian Faulkner’s Côtes de Provence Rosé 2025. Ideally would be good with a crab salad, but we don’t have that to hand, so we’re eating home-grown strawberries and some cornish cheese instead.
On my third mug of coffee. I’ve done some journalling, and more importantly, I got out of my chair and gave the lawn a light mowing. I was careful to trim only the top, as it certainly hasn’t recovered from the dry July and August weather.
Saturday Morning. 7.25 am. Been awake for almost an hour. Can’t lie around in bed. So, at the computer with a large mug of black coffee, as is my usual start to the day. First day off in seven. Nothing specific planned for today, but maybe some gardening later.
I’ve got up late as I didn’t get to sleep until 3 am. I’ve watered the veggie patch though. Pain in the butt with a watering can too.
Been into the garden and watered the veggies. It’s a pain in the backside with a watering can, but we haven’t had any rain for a while, and the useless water companies haven’t invested in any additional reservoirs, just pocketed the profits instead.
