A Grey Day
I guess it’s that time of year though. Had rain earlier, but it’s dry now. Could have more later, we shall see.
I am off for a Christmas supper at the lodge this evening, so I’ll be going straight from work.
For now it’s coffee time before working this afternoon.
A Quiet Sunday
It was a late start to the day. We didn’t get out of bed until nearly 11, although I had been awake since soon after 7 am, and I drank coffee and did some reading.
The painter and decorator who was coming tomorrow is now rescheduling the work for after Christmas, so that gives us some time to get things in order when they arrive. I was not looking forward to having to rush around today to try and get everything sorted out so they have easy access.
Kathy made breakfast. We had some fish that I’d bought yesterday that were quite short-dated, so we ate them so they wouldn’t go to waste. I spent a little time processing the video I took at the tree lighting ceremony last Friday and posted it on YouTube.
I made dinner tonight and we had pork ribs with roast potatoes and sprouts and some broccoli and roasted parsnips too. Dug out some music and listen to that for awhile before heading to bed around 8:40.
Saturday Afternoon
Yesterday was the Owl & Pussycat’s birthday. Nine years old. It seems like this little micro pub has been around forever, though. I don’t go there a huge amount, as it’s not on my doorstep, but I do enjoy visits when I do.

I left home at three. The O&P opens at four. I wanted to get some cheese in the deli next door first. I did that, and when I came out, Tim and Dennis were there too. We all went in together. We had several beers. Kathy got there soon after six. We had a couple more drinks, and then we all went to Monty’s for some food. We spent a good couple of hours in there. We went home on the bus and train, and got indoors around ten thirty.
Grocery Shopping
Well, it does get more expensive. Mind you, we did add on a few extra snacks that we wouldn’t usually get, so we’re ready for Crimbo.
We do it online, which is so much more civilised than fighting crowds in supermarkets, and then lugging it all back home on the bus or getting an Uber.
All done now. We could have had it delivered this afternoon, but we might go out for a while, so I chose tomorrow morning, first thing.

Ulysses
I’ve had Ulysses on my Mac for some time. I didn’t consider using it to publish to Micro. Blog, but today I was tinkering around with apps, and I thought I would give it a try, and see how it compares to typing into Micro.Blog using the default macOS or iOS app.
A Reunion Lunch
School? Heck no, never done those. This is a workplace I left in 1987. Will be there just one I’ve been to. It will be interesting to see if I know anyone there or anyone knows me!
