When Disaster Struck
Today is the 59th anniversary of the Aberfan disaster when 144 people, 116 of them children, lost their lives when the village was buried by a slag heap from a coal mine.
The Dreaded MRI
To check up on my Crohn’s Disease, I am sent for an MRI every year or so. I know it’s good to get checked but I hate it. I have to drink a litre of some foul-tasting liquid first. It’s full of artificial sweetener of some kind, none of which I can abide. Then I have to lie face down on the MRI bed contraption, with my arms stretched out above my head. I have rheumatoid arthritis in my shoulders, which makes it worse, and then I have to lie still for thirty minutes while the equipment and the operator do their thing. By the time I’m done they haveto help me off the bed, as I cannot move my arms!
I would rather have a colonoscopy. Yep. I said it, I meant it.

Brooklands
Today was Transport Fest at Brooklands, where the London Bus Museum is situated. The weather was a bit crap but I got a good batch of photographs

Time For A Cuppa
I’m a coffeholic but even I have limits. I’ve had five large Americanos so far today, so on my break, I opted for a cup of tea to go with a slice of carrot cake.
This Morning's Listening
Poking around in the rabbit hole that is Roon, I found a new album from Tame Impala, an Australian band. Deadbeat is the title, and it’s definitely worth a listen. It’s available on Tidal, Qobuz, and probably other streaming services too.

It’s That Time Of Year
Never ending days of grey. Is not cold but some nice warm sunshine would be great #weather
