2025
Tonight, 24 years ago… 246 passengers went to bed, ready for their morning flights. 2,606 people laid down, preparing for another workday. 343 firefighters rested before their morning shift. 60 police officers prepared for patrol. 8 paramedics closed their eyes before duty. That night was the last time fathers and mothers hugged their children, husbands kissed their wives, and loved ones held each other close. None of them lived beyond 10:00 a.m. on September 11, 2001. In a single instant, life was changed forever. So today, as you breathe, cherish it. And tonight, before you sleep in preparation for tomorrow, hold your loved ones tighter, say the words that matter, and never take one moment for granted. We will never forget.
As I am sitting at home journalling, I thought it would make eminent sense to decamp to the local pub with my MacBook to continue the task with a pint to accompany me. #pub
Someone, somewhere, on which platform I cannot remember, was asking if anyone listened to music through headphones while home alone. I’m doing that right now. Some music lends itself more to headphone listening, in my opinion.
Many people dislike the Apple Mouse. I’ve never had a problem with it myself. It does what I need it to do without any fuss or tantrums. Never loses connectivity. apple
I found my Apple Trackpad. Charged it up. Now I’ve got both a trackpad and a mouse on my desk. I’m going to keep them both there and see which one I reach for the most often. #apple
The problem with good headphones? I have to be VERY careful not to be late going out somewhere, as I get lost in the #music, and always want to play one more track.
Sometimes, these Ananda Nano headphones make me jump. I’m sitting at home alone, listening to some jazz. In a quiet part, someone, on the recording, coughed, to my left. I jumped and looked around as I thought someone was in the room behind me. The detail, clarity and soundstage are that good. #headphones #music
I have some good coffee along with The Very Tall Band from Oscar Peterson, Ray Brown and Milt Jackson. #coffee #music
If you’ve got jobs to do, my philosophy is to get them out of the way ASAP. Do the job you hate most/takes most effort first. THEN, go and enjoy a coffee with a smile. Because that task, at least, is now in your rear view. Perhaps my neighbours didn’t enjoy me mowing the lawn at 7.30 am, though.
I like that the Apple Watch is moving more towards a medical monitor than an exercise one. I might consider an upgrade. I currently have a series 7. #apple
AirPods that translate in real time. Interesting but do they translate any of the many Indian languages or Middle Eastern ones? Other than POLISH, that’s most of the foreign tongues I hear where I live and work. #apple
The 17 PM looks interesting in terms of speed, battery life and a 48MP camera. However, I don’t take that many photos on my phone ( currently a 15 PM) as I’ve almost always got a camera with me - usually a Sony RX 100 M7 or a Canon R8. #photography #apple
It’s raining quite hard; at least I won’t have to water the garden. However, I was hoping to mow the lawn tomorrow!
Last working day until the 27th. YAY! Just on time it’s started raining. Hope it’s not going to rain every day for the next fortnight.

I walked in the door from work at 14:51.
I took a shower and changed into something scruffy and comfortable. I prepared vegetables for dinner. I got sandwiches from the refrigerator that I made last evening I poured a nice glass of chilled white wine. I sat here at my computer and fired up Micro.blog I read some replies and replied to some posts. I wrote two new posts, including this one. The time was 15:21
It’s surprising what you can accomplish when you get started.
I am exploring adding some printer profiles for my Epson ET 8500. New to this, and it’s not straightforward
